Tyler Florence & Andrew Zimmern Hate Each Other

Bizarre Foods host Andrew Zimmern thinks Tyler Florence the “world’s least talented TV chef.” Zimmern slammed Florence on his blog after seeing his recent appearance on the NBC show Momma’s Boys:
Monday’s episode [of Momma’s Boys) featured the worlds least talented TV chef, Tyler Florence, once again churning out the questionable cooking advice and the leading the ladies through a menu of the Moms fave recipes. Watching Florence wolf down the food, stare and ogle every ass that strolled by his cutting board and play the role of local TV stud was high comedy of the highest order.

Tyler Florence quickly posted a reply to Zimmern on his Facebook blog:
Hi Guys, good morning and Happy New Year. Normally I have pretty thick skin when it comes to blogs and what people think. It is a free country after all, But this guy Andrew Zimmern, the guy who eats dried camel cock for a living, has decided to dis my life’s work because I did, my personal friend, Ryan Seacrest, a favor and helped him out with his first big television production, “Momma’s Boy’s” It was a big hit for NBC and something I had a fun time doing. It’s bubble gum reality, who cares. It was funny. I guess it hard to have a since of humor when you’re on your 10th take of eating Yak testicles, smiling to the camera, wondering where your life went wrong……… mmmmm, Delicious!

Regardless of whose side you’re on, one thing is undeniable: Tyler Florence has an unhealthy obsession with the comma. Good luck duking it out, boys.

Just out of curiosity, has Andrew Zimmern ever cooked anything conventional on TV other than being an Anthony Bourdain wannabe?
Hmm, did this happen on MYSPACE or FACEBOOK! Ha. Thats how ridic it is.
Andrew sounds jealous. I heard his ratings are in the shitter. Mad that he’s at Travel channel stuck with Samantha Brown and not the all stars @ FoodNetwork.
I dont like either of them.
ORLY, Andrew? Have we ever seen him cook? He’s like the kid we all went to school with that ate disgusting things purely to gross everybody out at the lunch table. The only difference is that somehow he has made a career out of it. At least when Anthony Bourdain eats something like warthog anus or a seal eyeball, he’s more or less assimilating to the culture his currently experiencing.
I’ve never really gotten a sense that Andrew respects the different countries he visits and why they eat the things they do. Why am I going to bother with him when Anthony Bourdain is on the same channel and does the same thing, but better?
Well said, Automne. I knew a kid like that when I was growing up. He ate worms and other gross things just for attention. Except now, he mows lawns and isn’t on TV like Andrew.
I enjoy Anthony Bourdain more as well. He is quirky and fun to watch, and knows how to engage his hosts in the various countries. Andrew does have an air of disrespect about him.
First, I wonder really if Tyler Florence is a good friend of Seacrest, or is this just an attempt to justify to his fans a poor career choice for appearing on one very very shitty TV program.
Zimmern just called it as he sees it. No secret Florence has major wandering eye/pecker syndrome.
Maybe it take a show for retards to bring out everyone true intentions.
It’s abundantly clear that Andrew has never seen nor heard of Sandra Lee. She’s the absolute WORST non-chef food personality on TV. EVER!!!!!
Food Critic Wannabe, Zimmern has actually had some snarky comments about Ms. Lee on his website. Like most of her critics, he was pretty spot on about her “cooking” technique.
But I’m siding with Tyler on this one. Zimmern comes across like a condescending jerk on his show. Bourdain has way more panache to his snark than cue-ball Zimmern has.
While I completely agree that Bourdain somehow manages to be both more snarky and more respectful; I also think Zimmerman’s criticism is spot on. I like Zimmerman more outside of his Travel Chanel show than on it. He seems to be knowledgeable and I often like his blog.
Florence’s response in it’s over use of commas and inability to tell the difference between since and sense (all while calling out his boy Ryan Seacrest) makes him seem like exactly the frat boy Zimmerman thinks he is. That’s especially so with his blog being on facebook. From the little I know about him Florence seems to be a decent guy, but there definitely seem to be quite a few way more talented chefs or food personalities on TV.
Perhaps Tyler should have a professional proof reader follow him around and proof anything he posts online. When referring to Andrew’s lack of humor he says, “since [sic] of humor” instead of “sense of humor”. Dumba**. He Twitters incorrectly, uses too many commas, name drops “my good friend Ryan Seacrest”…ooohhh, ahhhh, and says “off the chain way too much. Loser.
Give me Zimmern any day of the week.
I think I have to side with Tyler on this one. Never trust someone who doesn’t drink. They’re pure evil.
Zimmern’s show has pretty much run its course (or as Tyler might say, it’s corse). One can eat only so many grubs and scorpions, after all, and I do wish he wouldn’t smack his lips so much. Nevertheless, his comments about Tyler were pretty much spot on, and that he may eat yak testicles for a living really is irrelevant.
Tyler Florence is the biggest douche bag to ever cook on TV. He’s arrogant and whenever he slams someone, he has an annoying laugh that says HAHA..got you. Get over yourself and stop trying to be Emeril, Bobby or Alton. You couldn’t hold their chefs coat if asked. Yes, I HATE Tyler Florence..hahahaha!!!!!! At least Andrew knows he’s wierd and accepts it.
Have you seen Tyler’s recipe ratings on Food Network? They’re horrible.
