SANDRA’S MONEY SAVING MEALS: Coming Soon
![]() |
Break out those martini glasses and fire up your slow cookers – Aunt Sandy’s got a brand new bag.
Production begins this week on Sandra Lee’s “Money Saving Meals,” Food Network’s new daytime cooking series, which premieres May 10th at noon. Sandra will be cooking (and I use that term lightly) while utilizing her new TRIPLE A FACTOR of Accessible, Aspirational, and Affordable. We’re calling it now: the Triple A factor will more closely resemble Awful, Asinine, and Abysmal.
I’m shocked Sandra didn’t just drop one of those A’s and go with her usual AA double a factor: alcohol and anonymity. Maybe next year.
On each episode, Sandra will also be making a “Round 2″ recipe. No, that’s not a nod to how long she’d last in a boxing ring against Rachael Ray; it’s simply a “leftovers” recipe using the slop she made earlier in the episode.
Stay tuned to FoodNetworkHumor – we’ll be recapping and satirizing every episode for your viewing pleasure.

THIS WEEK: Another tailgating weekend! Alex G's onion rings, an awful slow cooker experience, Ina & Jeffrey Garten's lame steak throwdown, Jennifer Hudson's annoying Weight Watchers commercial, Restaurant Impossible's cheap makeovers, and more.

First!
Oh my dear God. More Aunt Sandy! Say it isn’t so! I am already looking forward to your recaps.
Food Network should be ashamed of promoting such a lame ass cooking show.
Sandra Lee: Cooking maven to the lazy, stupid and totally uninspired.
Whoot! Soon Food Network will have another sitcom on their lineup (the first being Semi-Homemade)!
The Slow Cooker Hooker expands to cheapness. Why am I not surprised by this…
Maybe she means the other definition of Aspiration –
“the action of drawing fluid from a vessel of cavity by means of suction”
It will be comedy gold!
On a serious note though, I really, really hope that the folks that tune in because of financial issues, figure out there are cheaper and healthier ways to cook!!
Oh, my sister is going to love this. A new Aunt Sandy show and it premieres so close to her birthday! Happy Birthday big sis!
The only A’s Aunt Drunkie should involve herself with are Alcoholics Anonymous.
Another sign of the Apocalypse
Oh, Good Lord. The Food Network has become the home of the cooking show equivalents of Maury Povich and Jerry Springer.
[...] their website dedicated to budget-friendly meals. They hired Sandra Lee to host a new show called Money Saving Meals. And, oh yeah, they’re selling hot cocoa mix for THIRTY THREE DOLLARS (plus [...]
OMG! The people with the negative comments are either stupid or too wealthy to care about those of us who live on a budget. Sandra is creative on a small budget. If you’ve tried anything she creates and live on a budget, you’d appreciate the help to keep up the variety and little food waste!!!!
I have been watching Food Network now for 3 years and now have my favorites of which, Sandra Lee is the least of them all I doubt she can cook!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone can open a can of this a packet of that a jar of another and add it all up to the filler of calories and unhealthy transfats and for what?? because its fast?? I can make something quick without the artificiality that is found in Sandy’s recipes which honestly make me wanna puke!!
I cant understand who will follow her gunky recipes
one word though
NOT I
I have to say that her show isn’t inspiring. Just because you’re on a budget does not mean you can’t use some fresh fruit. Find a farmers market or roadside fruit/veggie stand and get some fresh fruit etc. She is on tv right now and she made spaghetti and meatballs using 80 percent beef (20 percent fat? no thanks.. I’ll take my heart health over saving 1.38) She may save a few cents here and there but you can cook healthy and fresh without having to buy stuff in cans and boxes. She made a peach topping for her cheesecake and she used canned peaches. GROSS. You can not beat a few fresh peaches. Come on already!
The slow cooker doesnt bother me because you can use that and make some good things.
