Memoria,

I'm full Italian, and nobody, including the folks right off the boat, say any of those words like she does...she sounds like a non-Italian trying to pronounce Italian words, like Doris Roberts on "Raymond".

BACK TO THE INTERVIEW/POST: I don't see what is so wrong about pronouncing Italian terms correctly. At least she is not lazy with those words as many U.S. English speakers are (and yes, I'm from the U.S., but I also speak Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese). I find it refreshing and necessary that she pronounces all the words correctly since very few people in the U.S. do pronounce foreign words right.

It's funny that in an interview from last year, Giada had the nerve to call Lydia Bastianich "boring". I find Giada more boring and uninspiring than ever. "Giada at Home" is basically "Everyday Italian" with shots of her and her family on the beach. What happened to her? When did she get to be so f*****g boring? And when did her head get so big?

I happen to like a lot of Giada's recipes. Mostly, I object to the way she and the other FN cooks are marketed, with those cutesy family and friends scenes. Or, in Giada's case, those endless shots of her skeletal grin and cleavage. And I call the FN hosts cooks as I don't consider most of them chefs. Rachael Ray is just one step up from a hash slinger, IMO, and Aunt Sandy proves with each and every show that she is just a cracker who married well. Nothing else says trailer trash more than those cheap ass tablescapes. FN has pretty much removed every decent cooking host and replaced them with, yes, the correct word is hacks.
