Susie Fogelson’s NFNS5 Clothes
Posted on May 27th 2009 by Jillian Madison

FNH reader Judith dropped us an email to let us know about a video on FN Dish that shows Food Network executive Susie Fogelson picking out her wardrobe for Next Food Network Star Season 5. Judith asked, “Why does Food Network feel this is important? Her clothes are straight from Frumpy R US!”

After checking out the video, we tend to agree with Judith here. The first outfit looks like something Michael Jackson would have worn while on his Thriller world tour in 1983. And somehow, the second outfit managed to be even less tailored than a SNUGGIE. Sure, the yellow shirt is nice, but even Susie admitted she stole the color idea from Lisa Garza. Lisa looked polished and put together, but with the tacky oversized jewelry and purple scarf she paired with the yellow shirt, Susie just sort of looks homeless.

Bottom line: yes, we all have a right to criticize and critique the fashion and personalities of the Food Network chefs and executives. Why? Because the Food Network is about the food about as much as Playboy magazine is about the articles. It’s a personality contest and a fashion spectacle; a fictional place where Sandra Lee’s food tastes good, and there are no repercussions for serving an overcooked steak that’s tougher than Bruce Willis in Die Hard. And until that changes, we’ll be here, laughing at it all.

Love, FNH.

That is 100x funnier than anything I’ve ever heard come out of Anthony Bourdain’s mouth. LOVE IT.

LMFAO. Those outfits. Is she serious with that 2nd one? You called it, it’s totally a Snuggie!

  3. Sara says:

That 2nd outfit reeks of Dorothy Zbornak.

I am thankful this site exists because it helps to know that I am not the only one who feels this way at what direction FN has taken.

    You girls are pretty insightful.

Susie Fogelson seriously needs a stylist. She has major potential and is way above average looking. Her voice is smoky rich and tantalizes men. Too bad she is a FN stooge working alongside Head Puppeteer , Bob Tuschman.

Susie needs to lose the 1980′s hair. And since we only ever see her sitting behind the judgment table, why bother with the outfits? Just slap a dickie on her.

  6. Teague says:

    HA!

The Suggie was a brilliant call!

  7. Stephen says:

Susie, bless your heart. So clueless about talent. So clueless about clothing.

  8. Bev says:

I like the yellow shirt but that purple scarf? Yelch! I have a thing about indoor scarves… and that thing is, I hate them! Is it winter? Are you outside? No? Then take it off!

  9. Spice Weasel says:

I was about to rant about how petty it is to make fun of the way people are dressed but your comment is spot on: FN purposefully made themselves all about personality and celebrity, so slam away.

  10. Peter says:

Am I the only one who thinks that she looks like she’s been dead for 4 days?

  11. Alexis says:

LOL Peter, she does look dead.

I agree with you FNH. Food Network made a mockery of their network. That entitles all of us to make a mockery out of them.

  12. Kittykitty says:

But really, aren’t all the execs a little dead inside?

  13. FNCRITIC says:

I have to agree with the above comments.
I’m over FN Shows & ‘Celebrity Chef’ personalities.
Susie F. needs to re-vamp the hair and pull it together if she is going to make anymore TV appearances.
