FNH Video Shown On Good Day LA!

Published on: July 10, 2009 – 10:08 am by Jillian Madison Comment

FNH reader Neo just alerted us that the video we included in our review of Pepe’s Pizza in New Haven, CT was shown on Good Day LA thismorning. I know, exciting, right?

The catch?

Reporter Maria Quiban gave video credit to SLICE, a website that embedded our video review on their site.

Slice then posted a blog entry, welcoming all the new users who found them via LA’s KTTV Fox 11, and crediting us just so no one would “get bent out of shape.”

Here’s the video. And if anyone knows how to get ahold of Maria Quiban, tell her FNH says hello.

(if the video does not work, you can also watch it here)

Forget Loas Angeles. This blog is so hilarious and entertaining, it’s only a matter of time before NATIONAL blogs pick it up.

Forget a podcast sam, I want a video podcast. You guys should do reviews of places in video form.

I don’t like the way Slice put “so no one gets bent out of shape” .. how about just as a nice gesture because it was your video .. voice .. and body parts LMAO. Quite rude if you ask me.

Anyway, I love this site and it’s nice to see it out there on tv and in the news.

Just found your site via the buzz & am loving it.

I’m glad your video was shown…although I wish they would have mentioned FNH. The site is the best:)

I agree with Brinelac. That guy was kind of a dick about it. I’d be embarrassed to take credit for somebody else’s work.

Your shit is good. I suspect this is the first of many mentions.

One of my friends has had her videos reposted so many times, she now puts the URL of her website across the bottom of the entirety of every video she posts (and moves it around if it will obscure something vital at the bottom of the video). That way, when it pops up on YouTube and whoknowswhatblogs, everyone knows the original source of the video. She says that hits to her site have gone way up since she started doing that, now that people know where the videos really came from!

Love the video, had me laughing. Pepes is slipping since they opened all of those chains.

Greetings and gradulations. Maybe Maria will give you guys a footnote on the website or in another show, what a blunder.

I myself look forward to it every morning. Good job on the recognition and keep up the good work. You put into words what we’re all thinking in our heads!

I’m Neo (real name Morgan) and I’m the one who told you guys about the video thismorning. I’m a big fan of the site and Pophangover. Anyway, I’m vacationing in LA this week and I was watching Good Morning LA with my GF while we were getting ready to go out. I recognized your video immediately ’cause it made us laugh our asses off when you first posted it on your site. Pepe’s pizza is nasty!

Anyway your site is hilarious and it makes my mornings at work much funnier. hopefully you’ll soon get the national recognition you deserve, good luck,

    neo

FYI: Fox in LA is planning to lay off 90 employees from their shows, including Good Day LA. I wonder if Maria made the cut? The targeted 90 are young. For that blunder of not crediting FNH, I’d send her packing!

I went and flamed the site. Childish, but it felt good. :D

Jillian, Neo, Kitty (who I think posted on Slice as “Hateyou”:

I truly apologize for the flip tone in my post (”just so nobody gets bent out of shape”). You’re right. Rereading that, it does sound gloaty, even though I was going for “breezy” and “it’s all good here.” But it comes off as dicky. I’m sorry.

I was actually a bit embarrassed when I saw the Good Day LA clip—because the host did use Jillian’s funny clip and another non-Slice-produced clip as illustrations for what my site is about. If they would have asked me for a true representation, using my own work, I would have given them other things to highlight. I would much rather have them show a blog post of original material than someone else’s video.

That said, the video was posted with embedding turned on, which is usually a sign in the blogging world that the original author doesn’t mind other sites using it. Jillian, please let me know if you’d like me to remove that post from Slice, and I’ll do so.
