Food Network Buys Domain Name Declaring Love For… THEMSELVES
![]() |
There’s a new Food Network website on the scene, called iLoveFoodNetwork.com. Sounds cute, until you realize it’s run by Scripps, THE PEOPLE WHO OWN THE FOOD NETWORK! That’s right! They bought a domain name, declaring their love for themselves:

Look at all those hearts and all that vibrant red! Wow! They must really love themselves a lot.
With all that love in the air, it doesn’t even seem to be a very good website. Over the past 5 weeks, there have been 9 blog entries that basically consisted of them tooting their own horn and desperately trying to get conversation started by asking questions like “tell us why Food Network is a must-have in your household!” Um, because I need something to watch when Dexter is a repeat?
I’m curious why they even started this website to begin with. With their network, their magazine, and their recent attempts to spin Paula Deen as a kids’ school lunch expert, they must really have their hands full. Plus, they’re already neglecting several of their existing blogs at FoodNetwork.com (FN Dish, we’re looking at you). Do they just have money to burn on hosting fees and writers and web designers? Or are they really that clueless?
Finally, how is no one in the world calling them out for this ego-fest of a website? Consider this: imagine visiting a website called ILoveTomCruise, filled with dreamy photos of Tom Cruise and text blurbs about how sexy Tom Cruise is… and then finding out it was run by TOM CRUISE. It would be a PR disaster, yet that’s exactly what Food Network is doing with IloveFoodNetwork.com. How low can you go?
(How long until someone buys IHateFoodNetwork.com? It’s only a matter of time.)

THIS WEEK: Another tailgating weekend! Alex G's onion rings, an awful slow cooker experience, Ina & Jeffrey Garten's lame steak throwdown, Jennifer Hudson's annoying Weight Watchers commercial, Restaurant Impossible's cheap makeovers, and more.

Maybe they got the idea from the CakeLove guy? ;)
actually here are a few more they should buy:
flaysegodoesnotfitonanythinglessthenhdtv.com
frozenbaconmomma.com
theneelyslovetoomuchnearopenfoodcontainers.com
goodasopposedtothelousycrapyouusevanilla.com
Just tried to access FN Dish – Can’t find it! It was there yesterday?! Oh God, what if they got rid of it so people would go to this stupid site? OHNO!!!! JACOB WHERE ARE YOU????
I just checked it out. Now I have to get a new laptop because the stupid site sucked all the red pixars out of my screen.
What a load of crap.
How about a nice hot cup of desperation? Hey FN, wake up and smell the napalm…
lol Aunt Sandy must be doing their decorating
Oh look! Under Melissa DumbAss’s link: “It’s hard to go wrong with a dish that includes bacon and parmesan cheese …. yum!”
That bacon was previously frozen beotch!
Is our pal Candouche already posting comments?!!? LOL! Yum=Yay!?
Just here to say I stumbled on your blog a couple of months ago and am now addicted. It brightens up my day-keep up the great work!
That site is horrible! All that red just pisses me off.
This has Bicentennial Susie’s fingerprints all over it.
Of course Scripps had to start up this page themselves – they probably waited for YEARS for a fan to start one up, and then, surprise surprise, no one did. The first thousand or so comments will probably be made by themselves, as well.
Can you believe this shit? What other network would even attempt this? Imagine ILoveNBC.com being run by NBC. How lame.
Most blatant display of self stimulation I’ve ever seen on the internet. This kind of masturbation belongs on a porn site. Shame on you, Food Network.
@Trini: This is a porn site. The Neelys and blatent display of boobage by other “chefs” ie. Booby Flay, Giada et.al.
@Motzi Greps
Awesome Avatar!
Sorry FN, this is as close as you’re gonna get to an “I love FN” site started by a non-employee. Look at it this way: at least we’re watching.
Ummm….
ihatefoodnetwork.com/org owned by Scribbs

Created 2009-08-06, the same day ilovefoodnetwork was registered, at least they’re covering their bases.
On a totally unrelated note: I love you.
The ihatefoodnetwork.com was probably purchased by Scripps to avoid someone outside their ‘world’ to beat them to the punch. What a fun site that would be!
Okay, I just checked this out and I SWEAR it’s her! The whole website reeks of Candass “yay!” psycho. When you read the home page, you can almost hear them screaming “Hey! Look at me! I’m CUTE! I’m AWESOME! YAY!
Good Lord…
After seeing this website, does anyone else here need a tylenol and stiff drink?
I know I do.
Yeah, but FREE T-SHIRT OMG.
What’ll be next, bumper stickers??
I think I’m gonna puke!!
Oh man what an opportunity to troll..
Utter trash. Clicked on my pal Fieri, brought to the FN site with fieri merchan-junk for sale. Couldn’t believe the $10 squeeze bottles, uh WallyWorld has them for $1.50 each.
Just another means of increasing traffic to FN site.
And celebrity self-gratification.
We should invade the message boards on that site and cause trouble :D
I read the comments about Melissa D’Arabacon and stopped when I noticed one poster admonish another for a negative contribution about Mommie Dearest. WTF? Only positive, ass-kissing comments are allowed on the site? Horse Hash!
I’m with Zach!
Designer Jeans- why no love for CakeLove? Warren is a great guy.
@CherryRose: “I read the comments about Melissa D’Arabacon…Only positive, ass-kissing comments are allowed…….”
Instantly thought maybe some of us here had drifted over there to leave TRUE (negative) comments about McMommy. LOL!
That site is up purely to counter what Jillian’s doing here. So congrats Jillian, you rock!
Oh Come On, now WHO would do such a thing…
This is one of the most self aggrandizing pieces of crap I have ever seen. I really, REALLY want the old Food Network (referring to the pre-Tuschman era) back.
@Byrdie, not I, surely not you, oh gentle pristine Brydie. But darn it, others beat me to the punch of knocking McMommy!
The comments were priceless, and written so well. I instantly thought of my FNH playmates :)
This is the most narcissistic thing I have ever seen. It reeks of indoctrination, i.e. “You can’t say no forever.” Well, I try.
“That site is up purely to counter what Jillian’s doing here.”
My sentiments, exactly! Not surprisingly, nobody at TFN had the good sense to get a seemingly independent party to do their dirty work. But then again, when you consider the direction in which that network is heading, good sense is obviously in short supply.
I would sooner watch Dexter reruns than most anything on tee vee, only not on CBS, has to be Showtime.
There were rumors that Dish Network was going to drop some of the Scripps networks over a contract dispute and a scroll ran on some of those channels telling viewers to visit these websites. (Take note, there’s also: ilovehgtv.com )
It turned out to be a mistake, presumably on Scripps end of things since these websites were referenced. But might it stand to reason these sites were created for such a situation (though I have no clue how they think this would help).
You should so make your own site for this.
Call it http://www.ilovefoodnetworkhumor.com
We could go there to make fun of the things on that site, and…
You know what? Screw it. We can do that here.
See that, Food Network? We don’t need another site. Why do you?
That is great!

Or better yet, just go to a real cookie cutter site and order something halfway decent. I have my Halloween set, my valentine’s set, my dog-themed set…I guess I’m set.
After seeing this website, does anyone else here need a tylenol and stiff drink?>>>>
Nope, just a lot of vanilla vodka.
What about FNSUX.com?
Believe me, it would take more creative people than those who work there to come up with everything.
Wow, not sure if this can be considered “astroturfing” by Scripps, but it comes off as pretty pathetic.
This had to be initiated by someone at Food Network who reads this site and clearly saw what type of disdain was being shown towards them.
Maybe that PR chick who probably spends more time here at FNH ,as opposed to writing stupid FN press releases informing everyone of a Bobby Flay bowel movement or of a Paula Deen goiter removal.
Or the big villain himself. Tuschman.
This is the equivalent of a real loser type sending themselves a Valentines card or lying to your girlfriends that you banged a real hot guy.
Typical of insecure people within an organization.
That website blows. Hard.
What’s the most depressing part is that someone in their PR department got a raise or a promotion for that idea…
Ewwwwww, I just came from there – what a waste of cyberspace. Here they are, trying their damnest to drum up enthusiasm for their network with the manic attitude of a slutty cheerleader on crack, but it’s all for naught: what a bunch of pathetic jerks.
