TIT-eeeeeeeezzzzzzz by the sea, bouncing in the breeze.

If you’ve seen “Under the Tuscan Sun”, you might recall the Limoncello scene in the film. I’d much rather hear Marcello (handsome Raoul Bova) pronounce Limoncello any day of the week ;)
Shark!!!!!!!
BROOOOO-SKET-UHHHHHHH
I’d like to hear her pronounce “limoncello” after she’s had some.
Big lemons, HUGE HUGE head. I also still can’t figure out why she has recently bragged about drinking “guinea pig” smoothies. UGGH – That has really made me dislike her.
In case you don’t how Limoncello (or Lemoncello) is made, here’s the link to the version that is made/served aboard Princess Cruise Lines:

This woman is such an annoying twatwaffle. From here on, that’s what I’m calling her. Princess Twatwaffle.
pro-SHEW-toe
I love that one.
Mascarpoooooonee!
If you don’t speak EVERY WORD with an Italian accent, then knock it off. Or go join Alex Trebeck!
Does anyone know if Princess Pan-cheet-tah can speak Italian ? I know she arrived in the US when when she was 2 or 3 yrs old, but wonder if she was taught the Italian language.
Maybe her “Italianofication” is in part due in part to her not knowing the Itlian lauguage.
She came here when she was 7 or 8 years old idiot.
@Silvio -
” Does anyone know if Princess Pan-cheet-tah can speak Italian ? I know she arrived in the US when when she was 2 or 3 yrs old, but wonder if she was taught the Italian language. ”
I wonder.
Whatever – she sure is sucking the Italian culture for all it is worth ;) cha-ching
Aaron Sanchez over-enunciates Spanish words, too. It’s borderline pretentious. But in line with what someone commented earlier, he does have an accent. Obviously he has enough of a grasp of the English language to know that he doesn’t have to over-enunciate Spanish words, but he does it anyway. Annoying, but he gets SOME wiggle room here.
Giada normally speaks unaccented English, so she needs to lay off the spah-GEET-ee and pahn-CHEET-ah once and for all; if Michael Chiarello doesn’t do it, you don’t get to do it.
I’m thinking of that “Friends” episode where Ross begins speaking in a bad British accent to due to nerves over his first teaching assignment; it would be embarrassing, sure, but just let it fade out over a few episodes, girl.
I think Giada’s overpronunciations of Italian words is affectation, pure & simple. She was basically raised in southern California and doesn’t speak with any type of foreign accent – other than Italian food-related words. It is very irritating to hear her speaking “normally” in English and then suddenly switch to the deliberately affected Italian pronunciations. Cut the carp, Giada!
Amen! I’m full blooded Italian, and nobody pronounces any of those foods like she does…not even my relatives from right off the boat.
@Silvio good question. Come to think of it I don’t think that they have even sent her to italy when she did he little travel shows. She went to Paris an ate only Italian food.
Interestingly on the Paris episode she continued with the ‘fancy’ Italian words She completely butchered the French pronunciation of everything. Which is ironic because as we all know because she is quick to point out she ‘attended the Cordon Blue in Paris and is is a classically trained French chef.’…as far as I knew that claim of hers has never been substantiated.
@Frog Legs – LOL! thought I was the only one who remembered that about Alex Trebek!
@Roo! LOL! And Heroldo Riveeeeeerrrraaa!
Giada speaks Italian beautifully. I saw her hour-long show in Italy and spoke a lot of Italian on it (there may have been more than one, but that’s the only one I remember). There was one very touching moment in it — her grandmother was Silvana Mangano, a famous Italian actress. Giada walked by a store where there was a photo of her grandmother and some other actors in the window. She asked some passers-by (in Italian) to take her picture with that photo. I usually find her too “on” all the time with her personality, so it was actually nice to see a little chink in the armor.
I’m inclined to give her a break on the over-enunciation business, all of them on FN have their personality quirks. What I don’t like is the dumbing down of her food this season, and her making the same thing twice within weeks on Giada at Home (Cutlets Milanese, anyone? again?) Then, of course, there’s her using pancake, cake, and brownie mixes, and store-bought pie crust (not to mention having the nerve to say there are a lot of good ones in the grocery store these days). Oh, and doing a show on her memories of Paris and not making any French food. And that little reach she always has to do for the pepper and the olive oil that just happens to accentuate the girls…I hardly notice the over-enunciation at all.
Maybe she’s an Italian Eliza Doolittle [My Fair Lady] ‘The rain in Spain stays mainly on the plain…..’
Ina > Anne > Ellie > Rachael > Daisy > Aida > Nigella > Sunny > Claire > Sandra > Paula > Giada
You know what would make this salad really pop?
Some MOZZZZZZZZ-AH-RELLAHHHHH!
I hate it when she says something like this: “Now parents, if you’ve got picky kids, here’s a fun snack that they are sure to love!” And then she makes something like broccoli-cabbage-artichoke-brussel sprout sandwiches on CIAHHHHBATTAHHHH bread. And the of course she adds a bit of lemon zest and lemon juice to “brighten things up!” UGGGH – no amount of lemon is going to help that weird combination of unappetizing foods.
Princess TwatWaffle looks like she has pig hooves in this picture. Bet she could dig out her own truffles.
Wasn’t there a news item somewhere at some point about somebody important using her as a reference for proper Italian pronunciation? It blew my mind, until I realized that person must have a hearing impairment.
I have it on good authority :-) that some FN stars/employees refer to her as “Lollipop Head.” Just sayin….
The worst for me is “spah-geeee-tay”
So annoying.
She says SPA-GEEE-TEE – THAT DRIVES ME INSANE – I WANT TO PUNCH HER IN THE FACE
You couldn’t miss. HA!
Oh, Giada. I liked “Everyday Italian” a lot better than the new show, but I’ve cooked some really good food from her recipes. But like the commenter above said, she’s too “on” all the damn time for my taste. And that over-enunciating Italian words is just plain irritating.
Off-topic: Was there only three or four episodes of of “What Would Brian Boitano Make”? I’m wondering why one of their best shows in a long, long time has suddenly vanished. And I thought Mommy Mayhem had another couple shows to go in her six-episode run, also, unless I just missed them. (Damn, I hate trying to navigate their website.)
@Turtle, Mel M’Mommy’s off until January when she’ll have 13 new shows – ugh ugh! She’s busy reworking more of Ina’s recipes. Let’s hope FN’s banned any mention or use of bacon, frozen or fresh! Don’t know about Brian — I’m missing his show.
I saw Giada’s Chefography and in her early days her demeanor somewhat serious(she chalked it up to nerves.) Quite frankly, I preferred that Giada when she wasn’t so totally into herself. Her show seemed to be all about the food and not how good she could look cooking it. On her show this morning she was squealing like an orgasmic sow every time she tasted and I immediately changed the channel.
@oh_come_on Thanks for the update. Weird that it just got yanked off the air so abruptly but frankly, it needed reworking. They should have stuck with the “Kitchen Survival Guide” concept from “NFNS”
As for Boitano, they had the single-friend episode, the roller-girls, the supper club and the new-mommy show. Was that it or did I miss one?
“Princess Twatwaffle” – can I borrow that, Boxed Wine? Hilarious.
Yeppers, you sure can. I find it’s very fitting :)
@Olivia, I know what you mean. Even REAL Italians don’t pronounce Spaghetti like that.
@Turtle, we saw the same Boitano shows, 4 total. I hope he’s coming back. Maybe someone is in the know and can let us know?
I wish Tuschman and company would ditch Melissa. I don’t care how they change her show. She can’t improve and she’s just tooooo annoying. Hopefully she’ll fade away like Amy, the other faux-frenchie. Remember her?
These guys will continue to tape crappy shows fully aware that Melissa D’Dumbass is annoying and is a total phoney French cook. They have a mandate to tape new episodes, fill airtime, and do it with contract players like Melissa.
Why do you think hacks like Sunny Anderson , Aaron McCargo, Aida M, etc… are even on the air ? Give them a show, pay them scale and flood the airwaves with them. No emphasis on quality.
Amy Finley bailed on FN. It wasn’t her style and put family before FN exploitation.
Too bad Giada doesn’t really say “bitches” at the end of her over-pronounced Italian mini lessons. That would be HILARIOUS, Bitches!
@ Martin! I’m with you on all your comments. and on the guinea pig… I’m still quite bothered by the guinea pig smoothie. I twitted her twice, but she never responded. Has anyone noticed that her portions are quite small, and I don’t think she ever plans on anyone having seconds!

“And that little reach she always has to do for the pepper and the olive oil that just happens to accentuate the girls…”
Those are one of my favorite parts of the show.
I LIKE the girls.
Sue me.

She is so annoying sometimes. I hate how she’s always over-pronouncing words in Italian!

You all sound so jealous. She is beautiful, talented, interesting and lovely. Lighten up!
I made her sea bass once…shit was nasty and bland. I think she’s cute, but FN acts like she’s the Jenna Jameson of celebrity chefs. Whatevs.
