By popular request: here’s the “ridiculous” shot of Alex Zombieschelli overreacting about the taste of her dessert on last night’s episode of The Best Thing I Ever Ate. I should add that this has not been Photoshopped at all, so be very afraid.
You’re at a 9, Alex. We need you at about a 5. If I can’t see your eyeballs, that’s not telling me you’re enjoying your pudding. It’s telling me I should be worried my brains will be the final course.

Thanks Jillian for this post! I hope people appreciate this is not “Photoshopped.” Its is her real freakishly over-reaction to eating a good tasting food. Its so funny… yet sooo freakish!
Its like she turned into a zombie after tasting her pudding. I never saw anything like this – except in the movies or when eyes roll back during a seizure… Maybe she really was beginning to seizure? Truly, I have never seen anything like this in the course of normal human behavior over a food.
That’s frickin’ TERRIFYING. Now I know that BBG (Big Bitch Guarnaschelli) has totally lost it. *cowers*

Good lord, what a face. That was completely NOT my face for the best thing I ever ate, not that I’m sure I’d want that scrutinized but I’m not on FN.
I’d probably be guilty of a Giada porn face, only it wouldn’t have been faked or overly done.
(It was lamb in demi glace with pumpkin rosemary polenta, a hint of lemon, and red wine to drink.
That meal sounds incredibly delicious.

It was a warm “Indian Pudding” topped with vanilla ice cream. I am sure it is delicious, but I think she over-acted just a tad..

Even the color of her face is suspect. Or is that my computer? Either way, it’s horrifyingly funny.

Aack! Me too!!! Was my first reaction when I saw the photo. I watched the show also but just tried to look away when she was on, afraid I missed the actual moment. Thanks for the replay times Matt, will tune in and pay attention this time(If at all possible).

What is it? That pudding looks like heavy-duty split pea soup.
It was a warm “Indian Pudding” topped with vanilla ice cream. It is made with corn meal, eggs, butter, cinnamon, ginger and molasses.
This show will be repeated again on Saturday Dec 05, 2009 at 7:00 PM ET/PT and then again on Sunday Dec 06, 2009 at 5:30 PM ET/PT… You must see this show to understand the full effect of this most creepy reaction… And to understand this is NOT Photoshopped. He big black eyes just roll back into her head – like a real Zombie!

Im pretty sure the green stuff in the bowl she’s holding is what she puked out while being possessed in that photograph.
She looks really pissed off. I expect smoke to come out of her ears and her head to explode.
I’d like to see a side-by-side of this pic and Aunt Sandy’s martini tray pic. That would scare the hell out of me come to think.
And why is her skin a weird green color?…very exorcist-esque.
Good question about the color. Perhaps the same makeup artist from the Wizard of Oz did hers? (Or an ancestor of the makeup artist.)
I wish FN would just cut the whole “host tastes food and emotes” segments out of the shows. Alton hardly tastes his cooking – it’s almost a running gag that others get the food instead – and I much prefer real cooking instruction to watching someone else eat. At least there’s the TiVO 15 second skip.

If you can believe it, especially in this picture, she looks just like my landlady, only Alex is much prettier. How’s that for an image, LOL.
