    Don’t forget the orange tulips!

  2. Alex says:

The measuring spoons! Don’t forget those trademark measuring spoons!

  3. Scruffy says:

$25 on sale for that? It better have ground up unicorn horn and sugar refined from the powdered remains of angel souls to justify it, GOOD or not.

    Very funny post.

    • I was gonna mention that too!
holy crap, who wouldn’t want that?

outrageous is right. outrageous price. I can’t believe anyone actually bought that.

    • Ferd Berfle says:

You can get a much better giant brownie mix at Sam’s Club for about $6.

      • Motzi Greps says:

My mother bought a few of her mixes for me (they came with colored spatulas too!) and I have to say–they were REALLY GOOD…….Seriously. The quality was definitely there but I can surely see how that price could seem pretty outrageous. If you’re making brownies out of the box (like most of us do) I’d recommend Ghirardelli anyhow. Ok, those are expensive also but most of the time you get what you pay for. Right Ina?!?! LOL….. Love the Mercedes key ring!

      • Judith says:

You can get a three box pkg. of Ghirardelli Brownie Mix at Costco for about $9.

  4. Jimmy Johnson says:

Jillian, what fnh could use is a sub-forum where fn celebrity products can be critiqued. Good or bad, quality, taste, worth the money, etc. Essentially, putting them up to praise or ridicule by holding their reputations to their names.

  5. FoodieOne says:

I doubt Ina would consider Tone’s vanilla to be good! haha

  6. hairball says:

I love it when you do these LOL

  7. Karen says:

Nobody thought it was funny that the people who ordered this product also ordered immodium? What’s in it?

  8. Karen says:

Oops! I am new at your site… silly me…

    • Judith says:

No problem, we all make mistakes from time to time. That’s why we come here, we made the mistake of watching something on FN and had to find someplace to rant a bit and get our sanity back.

  9. CherryRose says:

Love it, Jillian! The rainbow flag gave me an idea: Ina should have a custom “shirt of many colors” in honor of her gay friends ;)

  10. jess says:

25 dollars for brownie mix? Where am I gonna get my baggy shirt money from, then?

  11. Sandra Lee's Liver says:

$25.38 for a box of brownie mix? WTF? (Notice it says only 4 boxes are left!) No wonder Ina can afford to live in East Hampton!!!

  12. CineGrappler says:

I’ve actually made her Outrageous Brownies from scratch a few times. Foodnetwork.com rates it at a rare “Difficult” level but they are very delicious and also quite expensive to make. Unless the Brownie Mix in the box comes with all of the ingredients needed to make these, then it’s probably more cost efficient to just buy all of the ingredients separately.

  13. Sarah says:

You have to be mentally retarded to pay $33.00 (on sale$25.00) for a brownie mix . Or a total loser brand elitist that needs to get a life.

    • martin says:

Actually the product sells for about $8.00. The actual listing on Amazon say that the buyer will receive 3 Boxes of the mix. Jillian left that out as a way of making the post seem funnier than actual reality. To be sure. I do agree that $8.00 is still a lot of money, but I must tell you I have used Ina’s mixes and they are extra delicious. They are much better than other store brands and probably less expensive than if I had to buy all the ingredients individually.

      • And Jillian stated that in the comments section that the price included 3 boxes. I didn’t intentionally leave anything out to make the post seem funny. I can get into a technical discussion about how I photoshop these Product Recommendations together but I’ll spare you. And besides, the point of the post isn’t the cost of the brownie mix. The point of the post is the actual product recommendations.

      • martin says:

Agreed. The product recommendations were funny! I would have made the hydrangeas orange though :)

  14. Sandra Lee's Liver says:

Of course, in Ina’s world, 20.8 ounces of brownie mix is a single serving.

  15. Tyler Peel says:

Jillian, thanks for the post! Your Amazon posts are my favourites. I live about 4 km from a chocolatier that sells Barefoot Contessa products and she told me that while they are expensive, they are without question the best quality box mixed products on the market. I’ve never purchased it but I have made her Outrageous brownies and they are unlike anything I’ve ever had before. Martin is exactly right when he says that you couldn’t make it from scratch for that price. It would seem that unlike most FN celebrities… Ina is actively involved in assuring product quality.

  16. STACCEE FOR THAT SNOOTY SB says:

DAMN, I GUESS LIVING IN THE HAMPTONS MAKES YOU FORGET ABOUT THE REST OF THE AVERAGE HARD WORKIONG FOLKS THAT CAN’T SPLURGE ON THAT CRAP. DOES ANY OF HER SNOOTY HIGH CLASS FRIENDS PAY HER FOR ALL THAT FOOD SHE COOKS AND SERVES AT THOSE SEEMINGLY ENDLESS PARTIES SHE HAS FOR THEM. SHE IS ONE GENEROUS FRIEND.

  17. Mandy says:

I’m a bit disappointed that only one person was horrified at the thought of TONE’s having the infamous GOOD vanilla.

  18. krosstx10 says:

Did anyone hear about Jennifer Garner wanting to be on Ina’s show but Ina said that she only has her “real” friends on her show? Real translates into gay.

  19. [...] Food Network Humor is my new favorite blog. Oh my. And this — Amazon Product Recommendations: Ina Garten Edition [...]

  20. Sarah says:

America’s test kitchen said it was the best brownie mix they tested! But didn’t choose it as their pick because of the price. What else would we expect from Ina though?
