How do I get on this show??? seriously folks there are educated/normal people that are clueless in the kitchen. I have managed to raise to amazing kids (they will back this up) and have a great job in heath care, but the last time I even tried.....3 years ago I almost burnt the kitchen down! I would LOVE the lessons.

Agreed! The contestants seem to be looking for exposure, rather than cooking skills.

I do absolutely believe that some people don't know what to do in the kitchen, as I used to be one of them. My parents were both really busy, so we basically never ate together. When we did have a family dinner, it was take-out from someplace. =P Once when I was a teenager, I actually burned cheerios in the microwave because I thought they might be good heated up. Yep, I burned CEREAL! XD

Oh, and not only did I not have any immediate family that cooked, but my grandmother (whose food everyone in the family obsesses over as being amazing) burns every single piece of food that she serves. Literally, no matter whether it is meat, rolls from the freezer, or pasta, it is overcooked/burned. And she garnishes just about every single meal, no matter what it is, with pecans. Yeah. She was the single best cooking role model I had growing up. I thought southern grandmas were supposed to be amazing, soul-food cooks. ;)

Thankfully, my hubby and I started learning to cook together (thank you, Alton Brown!) and now we cook almost all our meals at home. I'd like to think we are pretty good for home cooks with only a couple years of experience.

I liked Eddie... he seemed more genuine than the others, but perhaps I am just gullible? When I was watching the show introduce the contestants, it never crossed my mind that they were actors. Schooled. =/
