My wife likes to watch the show for some of the recipes. We are native Spanish speakers and we get annoyed by Marcela's over enunciation. I wonder if the show's director makes the decision to annoy the public or if it is Marcela's personal style. The show reminds me of that Saturday Night Live skit with Jimmy Smits. Would you expect Lidia Bastianich to Americanize the words she uses? I wish Food Network would make Marcela's show a daily spot or give her an additional show with a daily spot. Yeah, once you hear it over and over it's more than a little annoying, but at least she's saying it in such a way that won't make her grandmother cringe. Sadly, I don't know any Spanish and my mom (who is fluent, like just about all of the generations before mine) simply shakes her head when I try to say "enchilada." Exactly!
