Every once and awhile, I like to take a break from the Food Network snark and showcase some interesting stuff going on in the world of food. Obacchi Jacket Lunch Box is selling Bento boxes (traditional Japanese lunch boxes) that have been decorated to look like album covers… and they’re AMAZING. Everything is edible, and the lunches are made with ingredients like nori, fruit skins, spices, and rice. These were my favorites – but you can stop by their website to check out many more!

THIS WEEK: Ina Garten's "beginner" recipes, new Food Network shows starting in September, thumbing through an issue of Semi-Homemade magazine, Rachael Ray's daytime talk show, Aarti's "accountability group", Claire Robinson on Big Daddy's House, another sensual reading of Alex Guarnaschelli's tweets, sink or swim voicemail, and much more.

Ok, those are seriously awesome! Wow!! My Bento lunches aren’t near as cool.
Love ‘em, Jillian! Thanks.
Art with food that is actually interesting! FN could learn something or two from this!
Good job, Jillian… but if I wanted to eat Michael Jackson, I would go shovel the endless array of dogshit in my back yard. Yummo!
Can they do the cover for Sgt. Pepper?
Wow, these are amazing. I want to eat the Radiohead & Thom Yorke ones, haha.
FN or CC should get a bento-making show going. That would be hella cool. Course, they’d prolly eff it up. :(
