THIS WEEK: Ina Garten's "beginner" recipes, new Food Network shows starting in September, thumbing through an issue of Semi-Homemade magazine, Rachael Ray's daytime talk show, Aarti's "accountability group", Claire Robinson on Big Daddy's House, another sensual reading of Alex Guarnaschelli's tweets, sink or swim voicemail, and much more.

Not related to the podcast – but I think it’s official now that Guy reads FNH… On tonight’s episode of Best Thing… (in a bowl), Guy said something to the effect of “You know Anne Burrell, the girl that looks just like she’s my sister!”
Sorry, but that can’t prove he reads FNH. He did one of his Big Bite shows with her as a guest and annoyingly kept repeating that “she is my sister from a different mister.” She was probably talking to the walls when that episode was over.
Ah…. I see. Well there’s the problem – since I refuse to ever watch one of his shows, I missed out on that bit.
Yeah, he’s been saying that since At Least 2008, when he interviewed her for ExtraTV.
Guy can read?
In regards to the comment about Challenge cakes (you’re supposed to be on the edge of your seat incase fondant breaks), so true! What really gets me is when the contestants have to move their cakes and they show everyone in the audience biting their nails.
Re: ads and product placement.
I’ve been noticing that more and more too! Kellogg cereal on the recent NFNS is a perfect example. Getting more and more Top Chef-ish every day ….
I don’t really find the product placement on Top Chef to be as annoying because they offer prizes each week that are sponsored by those companies. Yes it’s sometimes a bit much to name the brand of car that they’re driving for every episode but at least you can see where it’s coming from!
NFNS has no such reason and therefore no excuse.
I pretty much love Jill’s accent. <3333
Hey,
first of all i really enjoy listening to your podcast… but i was wondering why you mention that you are drinking water each week. Why mention what you are drinking unless it is interesting? It would make more sense to drink something fun, nostalgic, or new and each week tell us what it is, but water is the most uninteresting beverage. its seems odd to make a point of telling us. just a suggestion.
thanks
