Ladies And Gentlemen: Guy Fiery
Posted on July 20th 2010 by Jillian Madison

Another day, another hilarious spelling error courtesy of the Food Network!

guy-fiery

This appeared in one of those annoying screen pop-ups during last night’s episode of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. It seems even the people at the Food Network are confused about the spelling and pronunciation of Fieri’s fake last name!

(Thanks for the tip, Vegas!)

I wish he would go up in flames!

  2. Daria says:

So they are airing pop up ads now to sell more knives? Since the cooking channel came out I’ve stopped watching FN, in part because Guy isn’t on it.

  3. JO says:

I can’t see how those knives would be comfortable to work with. They’re angled down which would put your fingers into the cutting board with each slice. (Talk about a knuckle sandwich).

On an unrelated note, I went to Alton Brown’s site to compare what he had been endorsing and found AB Shop to be “closed”. But look at the sign on the upper right:

I guess someone needs a new webmaster.

  4. JO says:

Went to Amazon to find Alton’s knives. Note they angle back from the blade making it easier to cut.

They’ve been airing that pop-up now for about three weeks; I snapped a pic of it a couple weeks back, but forgot to send it in. Do you think NO ONE has noticed this by now, not to mention Guy himself??? This is what happens when you change your name a couple times; you forget such details as spelling it right.

  6. ralsteve says:

I just hope they realize we ain’t buying the name change. He’s a Ferry and will only be a Ferry. Paying homage to your grandfather by using the Italian name DOES NOT lend Guy one bit of credibility as a chef.

    OMG, someone fires the interns!!

  8. christellar says:

    those are so ugly.

  9. Sharon says:

Well….if there are fifteen different pronunciations, there should be fifteen different ways to spell it.

  10. Lana says:

Guy Fiery is Guy Fieri’s clone. FN cloned him cuz the gazillion shows he has already aren’t enough.

    That’s Munee!

  11. Max Bulkchest says:

I remember when his worthless knives first came out and Alton aired a new episode instructing people to not use chef’s knives with that overpriced garbage etched into the blade.

  12. carlos says:

FN goes ape shit for someone who can sell products on their website, is that their main source of income? i would be interested to know how much revenue that really brings in, seems like advertising dollars would be out of control…and selling cheap knives is just a waste of time for them.

apparently they dont spend much on web editors

  13. Ferd Berfle says:

I’m surprised they didn’t spell Ferry’s name “Fietti.”

  14. Diane says:

Geez, you’d think they could get it right seeing as how he has like 87 shows on FN currently.

They ought to just cut to the chase though and name it ‘CrapBag Cutlery’.

  15. Jane says:

Guy F reminds me of the creepy relative who shows up for a family reunion that all the kids hide from.

Retail products from FN are cheap & shoddy. Crap for the masses…………

  16. Ms Gypsy says:

I wonder how we’re all mispronouncing “Fiery.”

  17. Silvio says:

This just in. Food Network Newletter dated 23/07/2010

Fee-Etti knives now offered at 50 % , plus free shipping.

    hahahahahah

“Toss them in the back, in the discount rack, like another can of beans”

Better get Susie Fogelson to better think these things thru.

The sell through is not good. Way to go Guy.

Hey look at that flaming queen
