  1. SaraCVT says:

    I think that’s more than 6 half-pints.

  2. Nora says:

    After reading the recipe, I’ve concluded that this numbers must be pronounced “4–no, 7–no, 4–no, 1–no, 8–no, 2–no, 8″.

  3. Lana says:

Would have been even funnier if it had been 867 5309 … cups blackberries.
    ;-)

  4. Matt says:

But is it more than three pints?

  5. Kenneth says:

I have to find that many GOOD blackberries?!

  6. Cindy says:

Not to mention that it looks absolutely disgusting. Who wants to eat white bread soaked in berry juice!

    • Squirrel says:

      You said “berry juice”.

      LOL!

    • Polly says:

No joke: up close, summer pudding it looks like a used maxi pad. And it does taste just like you suggest: Wonder bread dunked in juice until it’s a soggy mush. Yum-o. Whoever invented this dessert (and anyone who continues to make it) was making a passive-aggressive statement or something.

  7. Pam says:

Prep time 35 minutes? I think not…considering you’re dealing with four million, seven hundred forty one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight
    cups of blackberries.

  8. Fia says:

4741828 cups I might could do, but the “plus more for serving” is what *really* pushes it out of my budget’s limits.

  9. Daniel says:

For some reason this made me laugh insanely hard.
Just shows how inept the Food Network is.

  10. Kristyn says:

I could use a job. I’d love to proofread and get paid.

  11. janedean says:

I’m just concerned that 3/4 of a cup of sugar isn’t nearly enough for that many blackberries

  12. orchidgal says:

There’s a reason they are called Food Network web monkeys.

  13. byrdie says:

I was wondering what I was gonna do with all those berries in the freezer……

And why does it read ‘about 6 half pints’? Why don’t they just say 3 pints? Oh, wait! They can’t do their multiplication tables….1 times 1 is 1, 2 times 1 is 2…..

  14. Jane says:

    I think it’s a phone number.

  15. oh_come_on says:

This happens more than you know. Recently on a Melissa McBacon’s recipe they left out the what amount of pork tenderloin. She’s not the only ding-dong at FN.

  16. Gypsy says:

Is someone on the inside of Food Network intentionally sabotaging their website? :-p

  17. Teague says:

That might take two trip the the grocery store.

  18. Michelle says:

I wonder how many servings this ‘pudding’ would yield…

  19. Scruffy says:

Is Susie too busy trying to find outfits and jewelry for her appearances on TNFNS to oversee the website monkeys?

Their site is on par with most newspaper sites—which basically means it sucks and is about 7 years behind the times.

  20. Mac says:

I can’t believe the people at FN would let this one slip. Well, I can believe it, but it’s just too hilarious not to notice.

  21. SaraCVT says:

It’s STILL up like this! (I love that one of the comments, apparently in all seriousness, said that it was “a little pricey” to prepare. I would think!)

  22. jerry says:

I accidently put in 4741829 cups and totally bombed the recipe. #epicfail

  23. Megan says:

    And it just gets worse!

“1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice unsalted butter, or the dish”

  24. Linda says:

    Well…shoot. It’s fixed.

However. It now reads 8 cups (about 6 half pints). Ummmmm….a half pint IS a cup…so wouldn’t that be 8 half pints?

I think they really just want to keep everybody on their toes.

    • eowyn_2 says:

That’s what I was wondering, Linda. A pint is two cups. So a half a pint is a cup. So 6 half pints is really 6 cups. And 6 half-pints is 3 pints.

Perhaps they were putting in the half-pint measurement because blackberries are sold in half-pint containers at the store?

But still. 8 cups is still not 6 half pints. I’m so confused.

  25. Shannihilator says:

I like that below the 4 million (and counting) cups of berries it says “plus more for serving”.

  26. Anna says:

LOL! I think I would need to buy a berry farm to get that kind of quantity. I like how the recipe star rating went down since that screen cap was taken, too. Double fail.
