yeah, I’ve seen it before, too, Lana. I’m thinking it must have been in the forums.
I remember seeing this on TV when Food Network Canada was first introduced, years ago. I remember thinking that looked funny and interesting. Now that I’m older, I’m sorry I wasn’t watching Alton back then (I was in elementary school-I think-when FN started in Canada).
Alton use to be good now he comes across as a jerk.

I love this commercial. Alton is one of the only FN stars that stays funny, relevant and sharp. He obviously has some control over how he is put out there. Good on him.
I so don’t get it but then again, I’ve never watched his show. Maybe I should ;)
He’s a food nerd, his show is full of factoids
Why is he still with FN? Did he goof and sign a 50 year contract?
Where else would he go? The Travel Channel, or the Cooking Channel? And I guess you could throw in Bravo, but I don’t think they’re interested in branching out beyond Top Chef.

LOL very clever commercial. I’ve gotten my daughter and husband hooked on Alton–he does draw you in.
I love Alton Brown. His shows are informative.
And hes cute in a nerdy chef kind of way. :)
I love him as well. He is part of the reason why I am currently working on my BS in food science.

I like that they can create an awesome commercial like this for Alton Brown, yet they can’t keep a consistent freaking stream of new episodes every week. We’ve gotten like what, 4 new episodes this season?
For me, Brown is about the only reason to tune in to FN anymore. I just don’t care for most of the shows they run now.
Wish someone at FN would start up a “Food Network Classic” channel so I could see Molto Mario, East meets West, or even old episodes of The Galloping Gourmet again (loved that crazy dude).
The parent company, Scripps, has added the Cooking Channel, which features The Galloping Gourmet, Julia Child, Two Fat Ladies and a lot of programming from FN Canada. :)
Wow you just brought back a ton of childhood memories. I used to watch Two Fat Ladies all the time when i was younger. Too bad they don;t show it anymore on FN.
Malto Mario is on at like 7:30 in the morning (eastern time) on the cooking channel.

That commercial’s been around a while. AB looks scruffy, from his 2006-2007 years. And I love it!!
