Claire Robinson In The Rainmaker (And Other FN Extras You Might Have Missed)
Posted on March 26th 2012 by Jillian Madison

An FNH reader named Carlos recently watched The Rainmaker, the 1997 John Grisham movie starring Matt Damon, and noticed a familiar face in the crowd during a bar scene:

It’s totally Claire Robinson! And she’s pretending to be more attracted to the middle-aged douchebag with the receding hairline than Matt Damon. Now that, my friends, is some mighty fine acting.

Claire’s not the only Food Network host to have appeared as an extra in a major feature film. Oh no. Take a look at a few other celebrity chef walk-on roles you might have missed:

SANDRA LEE,
“drunk #57″ in Cocktail

GUY FIERI,
“moron with ugly broken car” in Dumb & Dumber

DUFF GOLDMAN,
“”swimmer bear” in The Karate Kid

RACHAEL RAY,
“dweeb on Vespa” in Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure

EMERIL,
“overly enthusiastic drummer” in Back To The Future

GUY FIERI,
“annoying friend who showed up uninvited” in The Goonies

BOBBY FLAY,
“mean Cobra Kai bully #22″ in The Karate Kid

ALEX GUARNASCHELLI,
“evil monster #88″ in Zombieland

GIADA,
“crazy sauce lady on float” in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

INA GARTEN + MAN IN TIGHT JEANS
“snobby woman in all black in the middle of the summer” in Weekend At Bernies

Wow this is way too creative. Awesome!

  2. Jill (not Jillian) says:

As usual, Ina is my favorite. She would’ve reminded Bernie that even dead he still needs to use good ingredients.

  3. Jim says:

That Dumb and Dumber one killed me. But I still love Claire.

  4. Paige says:

    “Overly Enthusiastic Drummer” = LOVE

  5. GreenJeans says:

I can’t decide which I love more… Dumb and Dummer, Weekend at Bernies or Pee Wee. Alex in Zombieland was almost too easy.

  6. Deaner says:

The Bobby Flay one was PERFECT! He looks just like someone who would have hung out will Billy Zabka (hope I spelled that right) back in the day.

  7. Holy crap, these are hilarious. Emeril as the overly enthusiastic drummer brought tears to my eyes, and bobby Flay as a Cobra Kai? PERFECT!

“Other spices do not exist in this dojo, do they?”
    “Chi-pot-le!”

  8. Kristyn says:

That Alex one is fucking hilarious! OMG

  9. Nancy T says:

LOL at Aunt Sandy because I knew what road Jillian was going down with this one. All of them really really funny.

  10. Chickety China, the Chinese Chicken says:

    Hilarious, more please!

  11. Chris says:

I think I also saw Claire as an NFL analyst on ESPN last football season. Oh wait, that was Shannon Sharpe….

  12. rikgoon says:

Claire on Twitter just confirmed she was in the Movie “the Rainmaker”. She said most of Her stuff was cut out and helped her pay for College

  13. kitten says:

Guy Ferry/Goonies with that ridiculous look on his face. He takes douchebaggery to a whole new level.

  14. oh_come_on says:

Ferris Bueller, you’re my hero! Booby de Laurentiis ruins that scene – fall off Giada!

  15. Daniel says:

    Aaah Duff without a shirt.
My eyes need to be burned.

  16. LaLa says:

    Bobby and Alex were perfect!

  17. sierraskyesmom says:

Awesome Photoshopery. The Guy Ferry one cracked me up.

  18. coffee-n-toast says:

    A few thoughts:

    1) I know it’s photoshopped in, but please tell me they haven’t actually shown Duff Goldman’s naked nipples on a cooking channel? Is there any way to lose one’s appetite faster???

    2) That absurd picture of Guy Fieri is hilarious in any context, but showing him as an invited Goonie is possibly the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.

    3) There is something so utterly hilarious about Bobby Flay being a Cobra Kai bully that I’m still laughing as I type this, and I have no idea why.

As Kenny Bania would say, “That’s gold, Jerry!”

  19. MNLisaB says:

You have topped yourself on this one, dunno how that’s possible. I near popped a vein I laughed so hard. If pressed, guess I would have to say RayRay’s Great Adventure is my fave.

  20. conduke23 says:

photo-chops are hilarious! Alex as a zombie and R.R. w/pee wee are superb!

  21. tennesseealum says:

LOL – as a point of clarification, Claire is a graduate of the University of MEMPHIS, not Tennessee (they are 2 different schools).

I have no idea where the rainman was filmed though.

don’t be misrepresenting my alma mater! we don’t want to claim her!

  22. lone_shark says:

Duff looks like the Ace of eating Cakes.

  23. Sandra’s outfit is perfect for the bar…well done!

  24. Melissa D'umbass says:

    omg, so hilarious!

props too to john grisham for getting a memphis state university shirt (u of m’s old name). what’s really freaky though is how that was 13 years ago and she looks exactly the same!

  25. foodiggity says:

just another excuse to punch the TV screen.

BAD foodnetwork humor! BAD! You DARE desacrate Ferris Buler’s Day’s off with trash like giada? FOR SHAME!

GO TO THE CORNER AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!

  31. shouldbestudying says:

Oh good Lord Jillian, was it REALLY necessary to put a shirtless pic of Duff on here?? Do you have no decency?? But seriously, that’s vomtastic.

  32. Woah Man says:

Wow, some times google works like a mind reading device or something. I googled that sweet little Claire because I too was wondering why she wasn’t listed in the scrollable chef thingy on the food network site. Behold, I am now here with more questions than when I arrived. What is the conspiracy that is being spun against this brooding temptress?

  33. Dr. L. says:

Claire might be a brooding temptress, but Jillian rocks the photochoppery.

  34. J-Man says:

I thought Duff played the guy who wrestled with Borat.

  35. So There says:

Wouldn’t it be great to see Ina in a DRESS!!
Even if it’s black! I can’t stand those shents,
    black pants and orthopedic shoes.

  36. Rocky says:

    HILARIOUS

Man, this made me laugh like hell

  37. vinfan says:

Outstanding work, Jillian! You rock! Love your sense of humor.

  38. Jen Zatoth says:

I think I hurt myself laughing! They were all fantastic!

  39. Bill G. says:

These are great. I like the last one, that’s Ina Garten and an odd chef doing a drug deal.
