VIDEO: Rachael Ray Taking 39 Seconds To Empty 1 Bottle Of Oil Into A Pan
Rachael Ray’s come a long way. Even if you’re still not excited by her food, you can’t deny she’s no longer the annoying, impossible-to-watch host she was 4 years ago. Sure, the stupid catchphrases are still there, and there’s more movement in the Great Wall of China than in her eyebrows; but gone is the obnoxious over-exuberance over oregano and nerve-grating frenetic energy whilst simply stirring a pot of sauce. She’s calmed down a lot, and in a good way.
The toned down Ray-Ray v2.0 isn’t without her flaws though, as evidenced by this awkward clip from Saturday’s episode of 30 Minute Meals. Someone forgot to remove the top from the bottle of oil, and Rachael just stood around in near deafening silence for THIRTY NINE SECONDS as she slowly emptied it into the pot. The entire episode is 22 minutes long after commercials, or 1320 seconds, so she spent 3% of the show on this one bottle. Someone’s fired.
Sorry for cutting off the story about the “REALLY EXCITING” thing she was doing in Cape Cod. I thought there was enough excitement in that video clip. Judgment call.

Rachael Ray In The Unfunniest “Funny Or Die” Video Ever
Props to Rachael Ray for, albeit subtly, publicly paying homage to how painfully lame her catchphrases are (YUM-O and DELISH!) – but her willingness to play along wasn’t enough to save this “Funny or Die” video from completely bombing. Comedy’s definitely not her thing but at least she gave it the old college try. Don’t quit your day job, Ray-Ray.

Ridiculous Food Network Recipe Of The Week: Rachael Ray’s Lemon Sorbet
FNH reader Lisa was searching Food Network’s archives for a lemon sorbet recipe to make in her shiny new ice cream maker. This little gem from Rachael Ray was the first result that popped up:

That’s right! Rachael Ray’s lemon sorbet recipe includes… LEMON SORBET as an ingredient. Classic. Don’t trouble yourself buying real lemons and all that other fiddle faddle. Just go drop $6 on a pint of Ciao Bella, throw some berries on top of it, and call it a day. That’s the new Food Network way!
Lemon sorbet is great and everything, but if you guys really want a challenge, you should try my favorite cheesecake recipe. It’s great. You drive to the market, buy a cheesecake, take it home, and eat it on the lanai while watching Golden Girls reruns. Now where’s my royalty check?
